I Stole This Necklace ....

...from my brother’s closet, because that’s what siblings do, so really I was just exercising one of my sibling rights. Plus he’s on a mission, and I’m the one that gave him this necklace... so I rightfully stole. Don’t you agree? Ha. JK, don’t worry I am going to repent, and give it back. I actually took it so that I could wear it on the Sunday Best show #ifImakeit (sort of like a good luck charm) But I couldn’t help but to put it on today. So here it is. I decided that camo would work with it... why? I dunno? But this outfit works for me is some weird kind of Heather way!

ooooooh and also! Tomorrow is my brother Micaels Birthday!
Who is serving a mission in New York right now. You all should write him a message! ( He would love it!!!!)
Here is his address: michael.goedel@myldsmail.net

Well today I was absolutely exhausted! Last week I was in North Carolina, yesterday I was in California, on Tuesday I was in Las Vegas, and now I am in Georgia!!! (Isn’t that crazy?!) No wonder I was dozing off on the stand today.#choristerproblems Despite the fact that I was super tired, I managed to learn a thing or two in church today. In Young Women’s we talked about repentance and how it brings us closer to the Lord, and ultimately brings us happiness. And while I was listening to the teacher I was thinking that repentance is a lot like running. .. The hardest part about running... is, well... the actual running part. – Right? I mean seriously, who likes to run? It pretty much sucks the whole entire way.  But the way we feel after running, feels great! My endorphins are always so high, or whatever (?), after a good jogg (I mean, don’t endorphins go high or low or something?) ... bottom line, I think that repentance can be the same way. The hardest part about repenting... is, well... repenting! A lot of that process (especially if you are working on some major thangs) ain’t fun... Sometimes the "end of the trail" seems like it will never come. But if we consistantly exercise our RIGHT to repent, then we will be greatly blessed. I know it. I have a testimony of it....and now you should all go and REPENT! lololol ( aaaaand I should probably return this necklace- ha ha) ok- The End. That’s my Sunday thought! I hope that you all are having a wonderful Sunday! I have some catching up to do on the blog! I will work on it this week!

KEEPIN it CLASSSSSHY

I can’t even begin to tell y’all about the amazingness of the Lords hand in my life right now!!!!!....aaaand that was a really bad sentence, (but I’m sure you know what I mean). I spent this past weekend auditioning for BETsSunday Best (click on words to see link )  and all I can say.... is that either God has a bad sense of humor and is playing a huge joke on me, or I can actually really sing or something?!? I don’t know which of the two it is, but whatever the case... I made it all the way to the end (of Atlanta)!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH.... I will post more about it later...

As for today’s Sunday thought ... (which if you don’t know, I always give a Sunday thought on Instagram) I thought I would share something that the speaker in sacrament spoke on today. She referred to a scripture that I have always loved, but for some reason, it really resonated with me today. The scripture was in Ether 12 vs. 27.... #thisisscripturemasterypeople

“And if men come unto me, I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness, that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things strong unto them.”

As she read this scripture, I couldn’t help but to think of the Sunday Best Competition yesterday. It was so intimidating and humbling to compete against such “Strong” singers. I mean, my voice aint no power house. Honestly in comparison, you could say, my voice is “weak”. But as the speaker read that scripture in sacrament today, I realized that in some kind of way, having a “weak” voice has been a blessing in my life. I have learned to work really really .....REALLY hard on many of the other components of music. ..composition...styling.....etc.. And at the end of the day, the Lord  made voice "strong" ... IN HIS OWN WAY.
#AMEN?!

As for today’s actual Sunday best look, here it is! One big Heather Clash! Ha!(I will do a blog on Mixing Prints soon) ...  but in all honesty, I was on hundred percent, so tired today, that I really just threw everything on, put my hair in a bun, and just decided I would
KEEP IT CLASSSSSSHY!

The Ghetto Fabulous Grama

Well, like I mentioned in the previous post, Tred and I made an unexpected trip to Grandma’s house this week! My Grandparents happen to live in North Carolina, (which is about 6 hours away from us) so actually, I guess making an unexpected trip wasn’t so... well... unexpected?   At any rate, it was nice to be able to visit with them. I post more about our trip in the next few days. (I hope... ..Eeeek)!

Well anyway.... since living in Atlanta, and making more trips back to North Carolina, I have been able to scope out my Grandparents lil town a lil better! And surprisingly, (I’m being sarcastic) I have discovered some little shops of my own! I call them my “secret Heather shops.” And seriously, you’d be amazed at some of the things that I find!  On this past trip to North Carolina, this is ONE of the blouses that I found. It was all of 2 dollars, and it pretty much made my day. Aaaaaaaaand I’ve decided we're calling this look the

    The Ghetto Fabulous Grama Look!

....because any bright purple Grama blouse with chains or ropes or whatever on it, should be called that right?

Blouse: Thrifted
Jeans: Target ( Boyfriend/Slim)
Shoes: Steve Madden (TJMaxx)
Clutch: Thrifted

Also, I think that this blouse would look good with a white pencil skirt and some strappy thin nude heels (you know the ones I’m talking about?) eh.. before I go there I guess I will just leave ya with a

Ha! Love Y’all, Thanks for stopping by!

Like an Ice Cream Truck Rollin though the Hood

Happy Green Day everyone! I must admit, I am looking forward to seeing all of the Green posts on Instagram today! Maybe I’m kind of a looser for that? But eh, I can’t help myself! I mean seriously, Moms always have such fun crafts, and foods to share. My original plan for St. Patricks Day was to make, and post, a fun green breakfast,.. buuuuuuuut we ended up taking a random trip to North Carolina. And well, Grandma and Grandpa don’t really care about St. Patricks day...at all... Lol.
(So ex-nay on the breakfast thing)
..#andextrapinchesforthem!
Anyway, with that said, I guess all I have to show for this St. Patricks day is a little bit of fashion!

I found this Green skirt about a year ago, at the tiniest thrift store down South (near Union City GA).  I was looking through racks and racks of junk, and happened to see the littlest inch of vibrant green fabric, peeking out, ... and well,... like an Ice cream truck rollin through the Hood, I was immediately attracted to it! - I knew right away, because of the print and make, that it was African- so of course I HAD to have it. ( I pretty much love all things #AFRICAN)

Anyway, for the past year I have had this green skirt it in a bag in my closet.. And I have been so frustrated (ok maybe that’s an exaggeration) but I have been so stuck on how to style it! I have looked and looked for things to pair with it, but I’ve never been able to come up with anything! #yallknowhowthatgoes ... Anyway, after studying a few other stylist, It finally came to me!  A jean shirt would work with it!
And so I went on a mission to find a jean shirt! Sadly, after looking and looking around for a jean shirt... I learned that most jean shirts were way over my MOM BUDGET. So I eventually decided I would just start looking at some Goodwill ‘s. (After all, I am a pro when it comes to goodwillin’).. And so the story goes..

Well, after about a week or so of looking, low and behold.. I finally found my jeanish looking collared shirt!  (#yaye)  It wasn’t like the jean shirt I had originally hoped for, but well, when you’re a thrifter like me, you make the best of what you find. And to be honest, at the end of the day, I actually think I like this shirt way better!#GODreallydoesanswerprayers! Lol (even random Mom -needing- a jean shirt -prayers lol )  The best part is, ...that it is made by Anne Taylor, (one of my favorite brands) so the quality is great!     #SCORE#doubleblessings

And the moral of the story is: dunduhnadun......Not only am I super confident that I will be getting a lot of use out of this shirt, I also didn’t break the bank!

  # Booyah! Raise yah hands and say#AMEN ladies!

So here’s my advice: If you are like me, and have a few fun skirts out there, and can’t figure out how to style them, I would totally recommend trying the jean shirt slash collared shirt thing! Goodwill always has a pretty sizable “collared shirt section”, so I would recommend looking around Goodwill or DI if you don’t want to spend over 25.00 on a collared shirt or jean blouse.
In my opinion, Jean shirts, and collared shirts are perfect for church, they always seem to add a little bit of caj.. ( casual ) to those formal pieces, and they are classic pieces that will get a lifetime of use!
     Happy St. Patty’s Day Y’all
( It’s cooler to say “Patty’s" than Patricks right?)
  I love you all!

Collared Shirt: Good Will ( Anne Taylor)
Skirt: “Mom and Pops” Thrift Store ( African made)
Belt: Target
Shoes: JC PENNY outlet

I also styled the skirt with some red. This look is a little more Mom Friendly, and easier to wear for church
                                                              #chasingababy#flats

Shoes and Purse are both Thrifted!

And Last but not least here is little Tred on St. Patricks Day today! He’s getting so big!!!!!! AGHHHH!

Ha ha #FIRSTTIMER

Well, now that I have completely failed all of my three followers, by not posting ANYTHING AT ALL this past month, I figured I would make another attempt, to say “I’m back”..Eh, Hopefully I’m not crying wolf this time?...
